Ainnir Publishing is a cooperative. It is our hope that we will be able to
afford many new writers the opportunity to have their work published. Ainnir
welcomes submissions of written work in any style and is happy to consider
visual material in conjunction with the work. We have now published five
books, The Water is Wide, profile of 13 Irish artists, The Adventures of
Puck, short stories by Cathal Browne, AFTER LORCA, poetry by Molly Gowen and
NO VAGUE UTOPIA, poetry by Emily Cullen.
We are in the process of publishing

Galway based Ainnir Publishing's Anthology I is an exciting collection of
new and unpublished work by six emerging women poets. Contributors range
from the widely published such as Pat Jordan,
Maureen Gallagher and Susan Millar DuMars to more tentative voices such as
Caoilinn Hughes and Betsy Carreyette. The anthology also breaks new ground
by publishing a series of poems by Trish Casey, one of Ireland's leading
performance poets. Trish Casey and Maureen Gallagher are currently taking
part in the Poetry Ireland Introductions series of readings for emerging
poets nationwide. Over the past few years, all have participated in the
emerging writers readings at Galway City Library and Scribbler's Cafe.
Co-edited by Deborah Evers and Kevin Higgins, Anthology I provides the
reader with a snapshot of Galway's poetry scene at its most vibrant.
This year, in December, we will launch The Cathal Browne Award for New
Writing.
The aim is to give new writers the opportunity to have their first work published in order to give them
encouragement and a literal stepping stone towards having more work published by other publishing houses. It
should be noted that this opportunity is open to writers who have already been published in another medium,
but wish to publish a first work in a new medium. The writers must been seen to have made efforts to develop
their writing skills or have had one or more pieces published and present their work ready for editorial
evaluation. The intention is that the writers help themselves by helping the cooperative. See submission pages.
Your support is appreciated. We hope you enjoy these books.
